The Laptop Recording Studio

Rikesh Gunness

Introduction

My name is Rikesh. Welcome to my project logbook for MUSI20174, a space where I document weekly projects, reflections, and resources as I learn different approaches to sound recording throughout the semester.

A sleek modern laptop with a brushed aluminum finish, its screen displaying a detailed digital audio workstation project with colorful waveforms and mixer channels. The laptop rests on a clean wooden desk beside a compact audio interface, a pair of closed-back studio headphones, and a small MIDI controller keyboard with illuminated pads. Warm, diffused afternoon light enters from an unseen window, creating subtle reflections on the laptop’s surface and soft shadows behind the gear. Shot at eye level with a slight three-quarter angle, the foreground is sharply focused while the background gently blurs into an indistinct home studio setting. The mood is professional yet approachable, photographic realism with a clean, modern aesthetic ideal for a music production blog homepage.
